the intersection of dimensions might evoke imagery and theories you only thought possible in science fiction. while the meeting of the all-but antiquated [no less amazing] technology of letterpress and that of the emerging technology of 3D printing is the makings of a time travel movie, for now it is a youtube video that will send letterpress lovers’ hearts atwitter. this may not harken the second coming of letterpress but it sure makes it more accessible to the grassroots gutenberg groupies.
as 3D printing has taken off, it has quickly been adapted to various materials and needs ranging from medical applications to the ephemeral and gratuitous. while printing organs is still finding its footing, 3D printing is already being used to give us a better perspective. here are three ways 3D printing is changing the human vantage point:
